Brett Burney
Vice President, eDiscovery Consulting
Brett is Nextpoint Law Group’s VP of eDiscovery Consulting and a widely recognized authority on the complex ediscovery issues litigators currently face.
In addition to consulting with corporations and law firms on their data management and legal technology issues, Brett is a journalist, podcaster, speaker, and author. Before founding his ediscovery consulting practice, Brett supported lawyers at an AmLaw 200 firm, where he worked with litigation teams in building electronic document databases, counseling on ediscovery issues, and managing the technical responsibilities of presenting evidence at trial.
As an ediscovery consultant, he helps corporations and firms of all sizes navigate discovery issues and minimize litigation costs by making smart decisions about legal technology.
Brett authored the eDiscovery Buyers Guide designed to help small- and mid-sized law firms understand the options available for their ediscovery needs. Brett is also the eLaw Evangelist at Nextpoint where he helps to educate lawyers and law firms on the duties and responsibilities around collecting, reviewing, and producing electronically stored information.
In 2015, Brett Burney served as the Chair of the Planning Board for the annual ABA TECHSHOW and regularly writes for Legaltech News and various ABA publications. He regularly speaks around the country to lawyers and legal groups on a wide variety of technology-related topics.
